Athena does not treat substance abuse, grief, or OCD. If one of those is the primary concern, she will say so early and help you look for a better-suited referral.
How She Works
Confidentiality and Parents
The teen is the client
The room belongs to them. What is said in session stays in session, apart from the safety limits Athena explains plainly in the first meeting.
Parents stay informed, not in charge of the content
Parents are given themes, direction and what would help at home, without a transcript of what their teenager said.
The household is part of the picture
When a pattern is being held in place by the family system, some sessions may include parents or siblings, agreed in advance.
Practical, not preachy
Skills a teenager will actually use: for a panicky morning, a hard conversation, a week that got away from them.
The room belongs to them.
What to Expect
The First Few Weeks
- 01Meeting the teenThe first full session is mostly orientation: what they would want to be different, how confidentiality works, and what they can expect from the hour.
- 02Setting the shapeAthena agrees with the family how parents will be kept in the loop, how often sessions happen, and whether any family sessions belong in the plan.

- Athena is licensed in Utah only, so you need to be physically located in Utah for sessions.
24-hour cancellation policy. Athena does not treat substance abuse, grief, or OCD, and therapy does not come with guaranteed outcomes.
