Individual Psychotherapy
Individual therapy here is still systemic. You are the person in the room, and the relationships, history and demands around you come in with you, because that is usually where a pattern is being held in place.

In Her Words
Sadly, having emotional or cognitive concerns is seen as a moral failing or character flaw. Not fixing your own problems is viewed as weak, so therapy tends to get stigmatized as a shaky solution. But it’s just the opposite. Seeking help for your problems means you’re taking action. Asking for help often requires more strength than passively staying stuck. Plus, consider other successful individuals who’ve had help from coaches, mentors and psychologists, including top athletes, executives and Nobel Prize winners.
Sessions are available for adults and adolescents.

Her Training
Training and Background
Licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist
Athena chose this licensure specifically and works systemically: people are seen in relationship, not only as individuals.
Extensive training in eating disorders
In her own words on her About page: “I also have extensive training in eating disorders.”
Three years under a psychiatrist
She learned about psychopharmaceutical drugs and the assessment tools used to judge when medication may be part of a treatment plan, along with support in medication management.
Psychiatric evaluations and an ADHD group
Psychiatric evaluations were a weekly part of her practice, and she ran a group for ADHD patients.
